WHAT ARE THE ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE GREEN APPLE AWARDS?
The Architectural Heritage Awards are part of The International Green Apple Environment Awards for Building & Construction.

The Architectural Heritage Awards campaign is a worldwide initiative to recognise and reward the culture and history embedded in the world’s  important older buildings, structures and monuments that have survived for many years to improve our knowledge and experience of the skills of long-ago generations.

Any type of building , monument or construction will be considered – from a statue to a stately home; from a bridge to a barn; from a cottage to a cathedral; from humble to historic… Everything!

FOUR CHANCES TO WIN
WE HAVE GREEN CHAMPIONS, GOLD, SILVER AND BRONZE WINNERS IN EACH CATEGORY.
You can apply for – and possibly win – more than one award. The same building can be nominated in more than one appropriate category; or you may wish to nominate more than one property in the same or different categories.

WHAT YOU CAN WIN
Winners will be invited to a glittering award ceremony in St Paul’s Cathedral, London to be presented and photographed with their ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE AWARDS AND CERTIFICATES – and they will have the opportunity to become GREEN WORLD AMBASSADORS to further endorse their positive environmental credentials.

WE WILL PLANT 100 TREES in the names of each Green World Ambassador and, to reward their commitment, each Ambassador will be invited to another special November ceremony in THE HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT, PALACE OF WESTMINSTER, LONDON to be presented with a prestigious GREEN PLAQUE.

The attractive zinc plaques are engraved with the relevant details and feature an etched picture of the successful building/structure. They can be displayed on the award-winning property, or in the offices of the nominating organisation.

The Green World Ambassadors’ winning buildings will also feature in full colour in THE GREEN BOOK published in A4 softback with Amazon, on USB stick and also on The Green Organisation website. Copies of the USB stick will be given to Green World Ambassadors, and they will also be distributed free of charge around the world to buyers, environment professionals, local authorities, Ministers, reference libraries, the media, etc.

ADDITIONALLY, AMBASSADORS’ WINNING NOMINATIONS WILL ALSO GO FORWARD TO BE CONSIDERED FOR A GREEN WORLD AWARD, THE WORLD’S ONLY TRULY GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT AWARDS SCHEME, WITH THE TROPHIES PRESENTED IN A DIFFERENT COUNTRY
EVERY YEAR.

WHO CAN APPLY?
Architects, designers, builders, owners, developers, national and local authorities, civil engineers, planners – anyone playing a part in creating, owning or preserving buildings and structures that make a positive contribution to our architectural heritage.

HOW DO WE APPLY?
Simply complete the entry form and submit it online, by email or in the post; accompanied by up to six photographs or illustrations.

WHO RUNS THE ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE AWARDS?
The Green Organisation – an independent, international, non-profit, non political environment membership group which was launched in 1994 to recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice around the world.

TIMETABLE AND ENTRY FEES
•  FREE ENTRIES (ONE PER COMPANY) ARE ACCEPTED UNTIL MARCH 31 EVERY YEAR.

•  LATE ENTRIES ARE ACCEPTED DURING APRIL UPON PAYMENT OF THE LATE ENTRY FEE OF £200 + VAT – DISCOUNTED TO £175 + VAT IF PAID IN 14 DAYS.

•  ADDITIONAL ENTRIES ARE ACCEPTED UPON PAYMENT OF THE ADDITIONAL ENTRY FEE OF £200 + VAT – DISCOUNTED TO £175 + VAT IF PAID IN 14 DAYS.

•  THERE IS NO LIMIT TO HOW MANY ENTRIES YOU SUBMIT, AND NO LIMIT TO HOW MANY AWARDS YOU MIGHT WIN.

MAY: JUDGING AND NOTIFICATIONS
